Are email templates in First Class HTML compatible?


Yes, just paste your HTML content into the template section and save. You can then use your fully HTML-designed email for sending in bulk or individual communications.


I copied a template to create a new template, now the formatting is broken, how do I fix this?


With email templates the editor is HTML compatible.

When you copy and paste from one template in the software to a new template this can copy across some of the background HTML coding which is why you are having the issue with editing the text.

If you want to copy an existing template to create a new template please follow these steps.

1. Copy the template
2. Paste into a word document
3. Select the text and use the clear all formatting option
4. Take this clean text and paste it in to build a new template
5. Make any edits to format within the editor.

The active student list sends duplicate emails if a parent has more than one active student. Is there a way to send a bulk email to active parents without duplication?

Yes, use the parent list and filter by student status enrolled. This will give a list of parents who have a student with a booking and will not cause duplication when sending.


I am sending a bulk message but it will only allow me to select the first page of the list. Is there a way to select ALL on the list?

Yes, in the list section, use the Select ALL button by moving the green slider to select all records in the list.


My SMS are not sending. What could be the reason?

Check that you have a balance in your SMS credit. Log in to your Burst SMS back end to view your balance.


Will customers receive push notifications if they don’t have the app downloaded?

No, the customer must have the app downloaded to receive push notifications.


I have updated a template but it’s not updating when an action is triggered (such as a progression email).

Updating a template in itself will not update the content tied to an action. You must edit the action and pull through the updated template to refresh the content.
