There may be instances where you would like to set up a class that is free to your students to book.
If you want customers to be able to book free classes via the online booking functionality or portal, you can by setting up a class with a 0 amount in the price settings.
Free classes can be used for things scenarios like a new customer booking an assessment
Here are some tips for setting up free classes.
Even though the class is free- ensure it has a price type and an amount of 0. Otherwise customers will not be able to book the class. Both of these elements needed to be added in the class settings
* If you are using free classes for things like assessments, ensure the only booking type active for assessment classes is casual booking. Otherwise you will have students being potentially perpetually booked into that assessment class for the life of that class. A casual booking will result in a booking for the selected specific date only.
* Even though the class is FREE, the customer will still need to choose a payment type, the system will then notice that there is no cost and then bypass the payment step however the customer still needs to select this to complete the booking.
NOTE: In the above scenario you could set up a custom payment type that is only enabled for that class, however this can be dangerous because a class without any pre-defined payment type settings will default to show all payment types enabled for online bookings.
